My name is Zeppe Udole and I've been in this war for one year. You see, some Serbians from the Black Hand group came to our country and assassinated our archduke and his wife. That's mostly why I got involved in the war, Austria-Hungary went to war and I went with them. The assassination of the archduke made my family upset we liked to hear his opinions.
Austria-Hungary used hand grenades, machine guns, and airplanes in terms of weapons. Our plan was to help out any where we could but I mostly fought against Serbia. I was a good fighter and my anger came from just thinking about the black hand group. When Russia dropped out of the war that really bumped up our chances of winning the war. Russia is a huge country and it was a lot less people to fight plus it wasn't a two front war for our allies Germany anymore. But then The United States went to war against Germany. That just made an equal amount of people against us. The picture above was a propaganda used during the war it was sad to think that if we didnt finish the war our sons would. That terrified me at the thought of the little children of Austria fighting.
Then the Treaty of Versailles came and that was a great disappointment because our friends and ally Germany got all the blame for the war. Don't get me wrong I was happy about the ending of the war but to know that we lost the fight was sad. The end of the war was looked upon happily from my family, I was just glad it was over.
